K-Pop Group of the Week: Enhypen
Hey Everyone! So, I am back this week with the next post in the K-Pop Group of the week series and this week we are talking about Enhypen. They just had their comeback on July 12 and this time they are going for a more refreshing, romantic vibe for the album. This comeback this time is called Romance: Untold. Traditionally, Enhypen usually has a darker vibe because, in their lore, they are vampire princes, so romance was a bit different, but they nailed it.
Enhypen debuted on November 30, 2020, in the middle of the COVID pandemic which was probably the worse time they could have debuted at through a survival show called I-LAND. For a good portion of their first two years after debut, they were only able to meet there fans virtually. Enhypen would hold virtual concerts and fanmeetings. Their first, in person, concert was their World Tour: Manifesto. It was their first world tour and it was originally announced for 10 cities but by the end of the tour, they had completed 22 shows. The tour started on September 17, 2022 in Seoul, South Korea and it ended on February 5, 2023. Their fandom name is Engene.
Enhypen consists of 7 members: Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunoo, Sunghoon, Jungwon and Ni-ki. They are all still in their 20s, the youngest member just turned 18 recently. Heeseung is the oldest member but Jungwon is the leader. Jungwon was chosen as the leader as the result of the members voting for the leader before they debuted and Jungwon became the leader, Heeseung did not believe he could be a good leader and voted for Jungwon himself. In the next few paragraphs, I will discuss each of the members and at the end will include their discography, in the event any of this peaks your interest and you want to check them out. I would highly recommend it, I don't think you would be too disappointed.
Jungwon

Jungwon is the leader of the group Enhypen, and as previously mentioned, he was chosen to be leader by a majority vote. He is known as the cat of the group and has a very cute and logical personality, meaning he really understands when he can play around and when he needs to be serious. Despite his personality type, he is probably the most mischievous member and really lives up to his cat accusations. He likes to pull pranks on the members and they usually end up going along with his whims. He is very professional and usually doesn't have much difficulty reigning in the members if they start getting out of hand, even if he is the one who started the chaos.
Heeseung

Heeseung is the oldest member of Enhypen. He is an introverted extrovert and really enjoys playing video games. Heeseung has been known as the golden ace, but there is some debate on weather or not he is an actual ACE of K-Pop (naturally talented all rounder) and his favorite colors are purple and ivory. During his time as a trainee he trained with TXT as they are Enhypen's seniors and they have been a really big support and inspiration for the group. He has been more involved in directing music during recording and for the most recent album "Romance: Untold" he wrote the song "Highway 1009" and is credited with the writing, composing and producing of the song. He is one of the more reserved, quiet members, of the group and always makes sure to take care of all of his members as he is the oldest. He is one of the members who are really good at English as he studied it while he was still in high school
Jay

Jay is the second oldest of the group and he is definitely the mom of the group. Jay is usually the one cooking for the members, cleaning up after them and providing them with the remedies to aid whatever ailment the members are experiencing. He meditates and likes doing Yoga. Jay really likes to sleep and sometimes can be caught reading. He is the mood maker of the group and is usually full of energy, but if you watch their content, you can always see Jay's battery running out after the other members are riled up enough that he can tone it down. His favorite color is purple. He has recently become interested in photography and has bought a professional camera and editing software for the pictures he takes. He moved to South Korea when he was 9 years old and one day would like to be a fashion designer.

Jake is part of the unit the 02z that include Jay, Jake and Sunghoon as all three of them were born in 2002. Jake was born in South Korea and moved to Australia when he was 9 years old (the opposite of Jay who was born in the USA and moved to South Korea when he was 9) and he comes from a wealthy family. Regarding Jake coming from a wealthy family, the other members have teased him before to buy him things because he has more money than them. He is 100% the definition of puppy energy and he would definitely be a golden retriever. Jake's favorite colors are black and ivory and he played violin for 4 years as part of his school orchestra. He is definitely one of the most energetic members and always tries to keep a positive attitude, even in times of hardship and I would personally consider him to be the rock of the group.
Sunghoon

Sunghoon is the final member of the 02z and his favorite color is white. One of his nicknames is Prince since he used to be a figure skater and, honestly, he really does look like a prince. As a figure skater he won 2 junior Olympic silver medals. Up until recently he was the most reserved member next to Heeseung. He is quite the extroverted introvert and he really likes to fish. Sunghoon makes it a point to try and fish if they are doing a a "relaxing getaway" content and in the most recent one "Enhypen's Friendship Camp," he actually managed to catch a couple of fish. He also like fashion like Jay does and also really enjoys shopping and perfumes. He doesn't very often prank other members but he is quite the instigator to the chaos. His personality is also very well spoken and gentle mannered.
